Did you know?
Most flowers sold in supermarkets and traditional florist shops are flown in from thousands of kilometres away, racking up huge carbon footprints before they even reach your vase.
A typical imported bouquet can emit up to 8 kg of CO₂ — the equivalent of leaving a lightbulb on for over 100 hours, driving 20 miles in a petrol car or having 50+ online orders delivered. Multiply that by hundreds of bouquets a year, and suddenly your flowers aren't as sweet as they seem.
At ah! Floral Design Studio we're changing that.
I craft every bouquet using only seasonal flowers grown in my own fields or supplied by trusted Irish growers who don't use harmful pesticides. That means: no air freigh, no refrigerated trucks, no chemicals and no harm to bugs and bees.
Just naturally beautiful blooms that are kind to the Earth.
By choosing local, you're reducing your flower-related carbon footprint by up to 95%. That's 13 to 38 tonnes of CO₂ saved every year — the same as taking 9 cars off the road, planting a over 1800 trees or avoiding 80 transatlantic flights.
On top of that you are also investing in biodiversity, clean air, healthy soil, and a thriving local economy.
A little about me
Hi, I'm Agnes — the heart and muddy hands behind this little flower haven in the west of Ireland.
I'm not your typical florist. I'm a grower, a forager, a preserver of fleeting beauty, and a firm believer that flowers should nourish the soul without costing the Earth. My journey into floristry didn't start with a fancy shopfront, but with a deep love for nature, storytelling, and craft — and a longing to do things differently.

At the root of this business is a simple idea: Flowers should be local, seasonal, and sustainable.
I grow many of my blooms myself using natural methods — no chemicals, no air miles, just soil, sun, and a lot of patience. I also collaborate with small Irish growers and preserve flowers at their peak to craft everlasting arrangements that hold memories, not emissions.
This isn't just a business for me — it's a way of life. I've always believed in slowing down, living gently, and honouring the magic of small things. Whether it's a wild twist of honeysuckle or a bouquet to mark a quiet milestone, I pour care and intention into everything I create.
When you support my work, you're not just buying flowers. You're supporting:
Pollinators and biodiversity
Circular, low-waste growing practices
A woman-owned Irish business rooted in community values
Thank you for being here. Whether you're celebrating love, loss, or just the changing of seasons, I hope you find something here that speaks to your heart — and helps you tread a little more lightly on the earth.
With love & petals,
Agnes
